GSE Launches Bilingual/ESL Teacher Leadership Academy

On June 30th, the Graduate School of Education (GSE) held a reception at the Fordham Westchester campus to mark the launch of the Westchester/Long Island Bilingual/ESL Teaching Leadership Academy (BETLA). The Academy was made possible by a grant for $4 million over 4.5 years from the New York State Department of Education to GSE's Center for Educational Partnerships. 28 graduating students from the first BETLA cohort were presented with their certificates at the reception, and 30 new students were welcomed into the second cohort that evening.
